Physical sunscreen also know as mineral sunscreen reflects or scatters ultraviolet (UV) radiation.

My favorite physical sunscreen is MDSolarSciences.  In particular  their Ultra Mineral Screen Gel SPF +50 (sun protection factor, relates to UV-A rays only).  It is broad spectrum meaning that it also protects you from UV-B rays.  The sunscreen is good for use on all skin types with a light silky feel which is easily absorbed into the skin, non-greasy, and no fragrance added.  The FDA Approves of the use of Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide for sun protection which are the active or main ingredients in MDSolarSciences Ultra Mineral Screen Gel.

ACTIVE INGREDIENTS: Titanium Dioxide 10.3%, Zinc Oxide 5.5%
Causes less skin irritation than other UV absorbing chemicals (chemical sunscreen.)   Still can be problematic for some people.  *If you get breakouts or reactions to mineral make up steer clear of physical sunscreen.
