1. ALMOND eyes
(Rihanna, Up lift at corner, most common eye shape, most symmetrical, can get away with most eyeshadow combos)
How to : Apply a medium shade all over the lid. Blend on the crease to emphasize. Use a darker shade on the outer lid to extend in to the outer eye corner. Use a satin finish highlight on the brow.
2. ROUND eyes
(Penelope Cruz, doll like)
How to : Apply a wash of color to the lid. Add depth by applying a medium-dark shade to the crease. Close together as well? elongate the eyes by extending the eyeshadow on the outer corner of the eye. Connect the lower lash line out as well.
3. PROMINENT eyes
(Jessica Alba, distinct, seems protruding at times)
How to : Apply a dark, matte color on the eyelid to draw eyes back and give the illusion that they are recessed. Extend color into the crease. Highlight with soft pastel color. Line Eyes to add more definition and draw them back into the face.
4. DEEP SET eyes
(Taylor Swift, defined and deep crease)
How to: Use a light bright color to bring eyes forward on the entire lid. Highlight with a shimmery shadow to lift the brow and give the illusion of more lid space. Use a medium shade blended into the crease to re-create the crease.
5. SMALL eyes
(Renée Zellweger, dainty looking)
How to: To open the eyes use a shimmery or pastel color over the entire eyelid. Apply a dark shade on the crease to define lid. Apply a light color on the inner corner to widen the look if your eyes are closed set too. Highlight under the brow to make eyes stand out. *There’s this trend of wearing circle lenses to make the eyes appear larger.*
6. ASIAN eyes
(Lucy Lui, undefined eye shape, no prominent crease)
How to: Add dimension by softly applying a light shade in the inner lid. Then apply a darker shade on the middle blending to the outer lid. Create a crease by applying a medium-dark shade onto the half point of the crease to the outer corner. Blend! Blend! Highlight under the brow with a satin or shimmery finish.
7. HOODED eyes
(Madonna, most common on mature women)
How to: Open the lid by sweeping a light and bright color across the lid. Give an instant “eye lift” by applying a dark shade swept upwards on the outer corner of the eye. Under the crease create a contour by applying a medium- dark shade. Use a pastel highlight under the brow to create even more of a lift.

The eyeliner is one important tool in your makeup kit and it is indispensable in defining your eyes – and there are different ways that eyeliner can be applied. Lets see how to use the eyeliner according to your eye shape.

■a) CLOSE SET EYES – Apply your eye liner to the top lash line and make the eye liner thicker to the inner corner of your eyes.

■b) OVAL EYES – Apply your eyeliner to the top lash line and thicken in the middle.

■c) WIDE SET EYES – Apply eyeliner to make the line thicker towards the outer corner of the eye.

■d) ROUND EYES – Apply eye liner to the top and the bottom lash line and connect at the corner.Make the outside corner thicker and make the line thinner towards the inner corner of your eyes.

■e) LARGE EYES – Apply eye liner to the top and the bottom lash line using the lighter colour of liner.
