Dita Von Teese Burlesque Star to Launch Lingerie and Perfume!

Hang on to your knickers!

Dita Von Teese aka The Queen of Burlesque is launching a lingerie line and perfumes on HSN! From the vintage-inspired lingerie sets ($25 to $45) to the fragrances ($75 a bottle).  “I thought HSN would be the perfect way to introduce my brand to the American woman, because my goal with these products is to bring glamour and refinement to women at an affordable price,” she said.  And she did just that by hand-picking eyelash laces and mixing scent notes in Paris herself, all while making sure the prices remained reasonable. Von Teese also wears all of the pieces she designed alongside those from her own very famous collection of lingerie.  “I spend exorbitant amounts of money on lingerie when I go shopping in Paris, and I think these pieces can really stand their own against the most expensive lingerie in the world,” she said. “I’m really proud of that fact.” And she has every right to be! Dita Von Teese’s American debut will be available on HSN and hsn.com starting April 23.

The seductive new scent is apparently an inviting combination of orange bergamot, pink pepper, Lapsang Souchong tea, magnolia, and raw amber. “I love the smoky smell of the Lapsang Souchong tea, which we combined with ambergris to create a voluptuous scent,” Von Teese said in a statement about Rouge.

To create her Old Hollywood-inspired scent. “I often thought about the great women that I admire like Marlene Dietrich or Hedy Lamarr—those sexy, glamorous, iconic women, and I couldn’t imagine them ever smelling like fruits or candy,” she said. “I wanted something that speaks of wanting to be grown-up, a sophisticated woman who is in charge of her life.” Von Teese’s scent is a seductive blend of Bulgarian rose and peony, with undertones of spicy Bourbon pepper and smoky wood.

Dita always stands out for her classic, porcelain skin. To achieve it, go for full-coverage matte foundation and a pinup-esque pink on the cheeks, such as Mata Hari from Nars. On the eyes, do a wash of pale blue up to the brow bone. Then use generous waterproof mascara on the top lashes and just a small amount on the bottom lashes. Fill in the brow to a classic old-Hollywood shape, and add a mole on top of the cheek bone with liquid liner so it lasts and doesn’t smear. On the lips, use an intense matte ruby red to contrast with the porcelain skin. Finally, Turnbow says, “Powder the crap out of your face with a porcelain loose powder to make it look really vintage.”
