Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer a Review!

Not greatest moisturizer on the market but it makes up for it in innovation.

It was specifically designed for you to apply the lotion while still wet from the shower. It absorbs immediately to lock in moisture from your shower preventing it from evaporating. While you can apply any oil or lotion while still wet they take much longer to absorb and are slippery which can be dangerous in the bathroom. If your skin is not very dry that you can use this alone. If your skin is very dry you will need to follow up with additional oil or lotion on top of the Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer.

Lightly and pleasantly fragranced the scent only lasted a few minutes. I think that for those with chronic dry skin adding this additional step maybe worth while.

Milk of Magnesia Great Mask For All Skin Types – Including Sensitive!

I love Milk of Magnesia!

It is watery so use a brush with the Milk of Magnesia in a bowl if you use it straight with nothing added to thicken it.

Dry skin- mix with almond/olive oil & powdered milk or greek yogurt (optional: essential oil of Carrot seed, Chamomile, Neroli, Rose, Geranium, Lavender, Palma Rosa, & Rosewood; one to 2 drops of oil only of 1 or 2 oils)

Oily/Acneic Skin- mix with clay (I like Aztec Secret Brand) & lemon juice (optional: essential oil of Lemon, Lime, Bergamot, Clary Sage, Rosemary, Tea Tree, or Ylang Ylang; one to 2 drops of oil only of 1 or 2 oils)

Combination: mix with clay (optional: essential oil of Geranium, Rosewood, Ylang-ylang, Geranium, or Neroli; one to 2 drops of oil only of 1 or 2 oils)

Sensitive: optional: essential oil of Geranium, Jasmine, or Lavender; one to 2 drops of oil only of 1 or 2 oils

Clarins Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil: Review! A Cult Favorite!

Clarins Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil

Specifically made for dehydrated skin, the cult-favorite Clarins Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil has 100% pure plant extracts of rosewood, patchouli and blue orchid instantly revitalize and restore radiance in your skin. This gentle treatment has no preservatives, and the hazelnut oil helps retain moisture throughout the day.

At first I used it on its own, or layered with moisturizer but that didn’t do much to my skin. I read that people mix it with their moisturizer and for some reason that makes all the difference. I use it morning and evening and my skin is healthy, plump and dewy (if I use too much it’s greasy at first but penetrates quickly enough). Foundation application is a breeze. It even takes care of some of my facial problem areas (between eyebrows and spot underneath my lip).  Not for sensitive skin!

Keep your Hair and Skin Healthy with a Shower Water Filter!

I have tried several shower water filters over the years and nothing has worked as well as Aquasana.  Why a water filter in the shower?  City water has chlorine, traces of synthetic chemicals, a high acid or low alkaline PH.  Well water can have an excess of  iron, calcium, and magnesium.  Aquasana removes 91% of the chlorine in your water, compared to 50% for other water filters, and also reduces synthetic chemicals and enhances pH balance.  They have shower filters specifically made for well water, but you need to call (866) 662-6885 to order it is not for sale on the website.  I was able to install it like any other shower head no plumber needed.  The filter contain two stages.  Stage one copper-zinc oxidation media reduces chlorine and enhances pH balance and stage two coconut shell carbon to reduce synthetic chemicals.   The filters need to be replaced about every six months and cost $52.50.  That may sound like a lot of money but if you constantly have dry, itchy skin and dandruff it can make a difference.  Also remember that your skin is absorbing the contaminants in the water.  You wouldn’t want to drink that, why would you want to shower in it?

La Bella Figura Barbary Fig Renewal Serum: A Review!

This serum is a luxury at $125.00, I could definitely do without the price. That being said this serum not only smells divine it works wonders on dry, dehydrated, or sensitive skin. Your skin absorbs the product and makes it glow, just as promised. I would not recommend this product for oily, combination, or acneic skin. It contains antioxidants, omega fatty acids, vitamins A, E, and beta carotene all of which are beneficial to the skin. The La Bella Figura product line is all organic , which is always a plus in my book.
